Dalg Galbi (닭갈비) | Spicy Stir Fried Chicken
닭갈비 (pronounce: dak-gal-bi) is a spicy dish made with bite-sized boneless chicken pieces stir-fried with gochujang (Korean chili paste) sauce and cabbage. It is a bold and flavourful Korean favourite.
While Dalg (닭) means ‘chicken’ and Galbi (갈비) refers to ‘ribs’, there is no ribs in this dish. Back in the days, pork ribs were too expensive for everyday meal, so a restaurant cook created a dish of similar taste with chicken instead and called it Dalg Galbi (닭갈비).
